A Skirt in Five (Fat) Quarters

I wanted to make my next Summer of No Pants skirt from fabric I already own, and I have several collections of designer fat quarters. I scoured the web and found only one tutorial that wasn’t for little girls. I wanted something different from what I found, so I decided to wing it!

Poor Norma Jean, forced to wear a wrinkly skirt! I wore it for a while before pictures, and I learned my lesson. Also, this method of attaching elastic is NOT FUN. I used five fat quarters – four for the panels and one for the border at the hemline.

I’m going to try another fat quarter skirt that is more shapely. I will take pics and hopefully write a tutorial for the next version.

Happy sewing,
