SONP Skirt 3

This was a disaster from the moment I bought the material.

The fabric is some sort of thick bottom weight. While it is nice to skip interfacing, pressing isn’t fun – especially without a pressing ham.

Patterns are not made for people with any sort of shape (okay, maybe just my shape). I think I may look into dress forms and drafting my own patterns from scratch. This skirt would probably fit ten pounds from now.

I haven’t hemmed the bottom – I figure if it ever really fits, I will tackle it then. Since June 20th is our “deadline” from Summer of No Pants creations, this could be possible.

If you know of a good resource for making pattern alterations, please share with me! I thought this challenge would be easy but my own body is proving to be a high hurdle.

Happy sewing,
Skylar

I have a problem fitting my shape, too. My waist is always skinnier than they plan for with a woman with my size hips. It’s very frustrating trying to get anything to fit. Thankfully, Mom is a better seamstress than I and can help me when I’m having trouble conquering these problems on my own!
