I bought a book called Sublime Stitching. The idea is to add cute little motifs to my sewn accessories.
I think I will try to embroider a name on a lanyard for a friend. I might stab myself with the needle and bleed all over it, but it’s worth a shot. Even if I never use the embroidery hoops for its intended purpose again, I could put some cute fabric in it and hang it on the wall. That sounds a lot easier than hand stitching, which is currently the bane of my existence.
I’m in the process of altering a friend’s weighted vest by adding snaps to make it tighter than the adjustable side straps will allow. I’m using large, black, heavy duty snaps and they are kicking my butt. I’m spreading the project out over four nights so I don’t get too cranky.
