First Skirt: Part 1

I am trying to accomplish all my sewing goals, and my Spring Break is kicking off with a skirt pattern by Simplicity.

I’m making the top left one; very basic (read: tough to screw up). I washed my yellow fabric and ironed it, thinking all was well until I cut my pattern pieces out and discovered there are puncture holes in one piece. Yikes! I’m going to have to look at where the piece will end up on the skirt and decide whether to cut another one or just stick an appliqué over it. The fabric has tiny pink stars on it so maybe some appliqué stars.

Not a great pic of the fabric – my sewing room is coral and sometimes really distorts photo color. I will try to sew the skirt tomorrow.

Happy sewing,

  1. Ooh, that’s lovely fabric! Very frustrating about the holes though.
